14 week midwife appointment update

I had my 14 week appointment on monday. It wasnt what i expected again - to be honest i dunno what i expected. It was the consultant that seen me this time. The midwife came to take me through from the waiting area and asked if it was my first appointment. I said it was the first one since my booking appointment and she was like "oh so you're here for a scan then!" tempting as it was for me to say "YES PLEASE " lol i knew it was already written in my notes that i'd had it done last week lol I should reall just have played dumb and said i didnt know lol

Anyway, got my blood works back and all ok. The consultant only mentioned my weight & BMI (obviously enough lol) and said that because i'm bigger it will be difficult to monitor the baby's weight so i have to have a series of scans at 28, 32 & 36 weeks so i guess i got lucky on the scan front coz most women here usually only get 1 at 12 weeks

I've got my next appointment with the midwife at the drs surgery on the 14th march.

My next appointment with the consultant isnt until the 12th May (12 weeks time) so i'll be 26 weeks then!!!! scary!!

I thought they would have taken my blood pressure or made me pee in a pot or something but they didnt. They only thing i had to do was hop on the scales coz the dr didnt believe what they had written my weight was lol he said "you dont look all that big" lol i shall take that as a compliment lol

That was it really!

mine always take a urine test. And blood pressure and weight. And sometimes a blood test too.

if you're worried maybe just give them a call and check that it wasnt needed. Just say you'd read that a lot of women need to do that or have their blood pressure taken etc and you just wanted to check...?

Mine has always done the weight, the urine test, and the blood pressure check. It is probably different from area to area though. Glad your appointment went well!
