I know what you mean. I don't see why people feel it's ok to tell a lady she's big just bacause she's pregnant. It's still rude....

I hate it even worse when you are a month or so away from dd when everyone you see (whether you know them or not!) says "you still haven't had that baby? or, You look like you are ready to POP!" Arghh. That gets old fast when you can't wait for baby and you are so uncomfy.

The weight gain is good, as long as it's not too much obviously! My midwife was not happy with me when I went for my 15 week check up because I had only gained 2kg. She had told me to try gain more because I was/am underweight anyway. I think I have gained in the last 2 weeks though so she best be satisfied. LOL

Atleast you'll have a healthy baby! you can never satisfy people.

I totally agree with you all as i constantly get the"you're gonna be massive" "are you sure it aint twins" "that's gonna be a big baby" and it's infuriating as i think people must think we walk about with our eyes shut and don't notice that we are changing and that's why it needs to be pointed out to us.I've put on about 18lbs so far and my hubby thinks i look brill and i'm loving it so F**k them all and lets hope they get big fat strech marks when there time comes!!!

Peopl can be very nosey and make others feel bad. Sometimes it does stem from them being truely concerned though.

Weight gain is good as long as it is gradual and not too much. Too much weight gain can lead to alot of health risks for you and your baby (gestational diabetes and other bloodpressure related risks). Sometimes people do choose to ignor this and end up gaining huge amounts. Which is not safe. And the weight is not all baby, which some people like to tell themselves. You have to factor in baby weight, water weight and the excess fat your body accumulates.

But if your weight gain is on schedule with how your doctor wants then that is all that matters.

People are right though, the most weight gain will be in the 3rd trimester. And any weight you put on during pregnancy, will be there when the baby is gone. (except for baby weight and water weight).

Try to ignor people though. They will say what they want and the only person who should be giving you direction is your dr.

I find it disgusting that we women should have to defend ourselves from nosy jerks who feel entitled to comment on our bodies when we are at our most vulnerable.

It's bad enough that we are constantly told we are not thin enough, not athletic enough, not tall enough, not beautiful enough--now, when we are growing another human being in our body and should feel comfortable eating basically whatever we want (within reason and as long as it's nutritious most of the time), jealous women and insensitive men try to make us feel insecure about our weight! Pregnancy is not a time to be counting calories, ladies--but god forbid you should focus on your health and not how you look to other people.

My usual response has been, "I'm pregnant--what's your excuse?", which I follow with a critical stare at their body. Hey, if you're going to insult me, I will happily send some back your way. Just because I'm pregnant doesn't mean my body is open for discussion. Mind our own business or be prepared to face a tongue-lashing from a hormonal, angry pregnant woman!

Sorry for the rant but this drives me crazy, especially since I've been feeling huge at only 14 weeks. >

I think I'm finally used to it. It doesn't even effect me anymore.

We had friends over last night and I've grown alot since last seeing them. The first words she said when she saw me were "Omg your tummy is so huge! It's gorgeous!!" LOL crazy. Another friend said the same when he saw me after 2-3 weeks. "Wow you're huge!! And really beautiful!!!"
Who would've thought the word "Huge" could be used as a compliment.

I just let them carry on now. lol For me to get upset with them does nothing but raise my blood pressure. Sometimes I still feel like smacking people that say I'm huge but that's only when I can hear it isn't a compliment... it's laced with sarcasm.

I get that too.... if I havent seen a particular friend for a week or two.... "my gosh youve definetly got bigger since the last time"!!! Its like "WELL DUH, my baby is growing all the time"!!!
I do however think some people just do not think before they speak and may even feel like they are complimenting you!!! Definetly those who have never been pregnant!!!
I felt huge at 14 weeks too gabi... and now Im 24 I look side ways in a mirror whilst shopping or whatever and still cannot believe how I look!! I dont understand how these people think I need to be told how big Im getting because I can CLEARLY see it myself!!
Its good to have a little rant now and again !!
