Baby to-buy list


Hi girls

After much research, I put together a list of all things needed for the bubs in the first six months or so. I put essentials and nice to have together and also added some items that are applicable only to me (for the nursery) but overall this is a pretty comprehensive list. Let me know if you see I missed something?

Crib
Stroller
Crib mattress
1 quilted mattress pad
2-4 waterproof mattress pads
3 fitted crib sheets
2 light blankets
1 sleep positioner
Mobile for crib
Dresser
Changing area
Nightlight

Diapers 400 first month
Disposable baby wipes
Rubbing alcohol
Diaper rash cream (Desitin or A&D)
Cotton swabs
Petroleum jelly if a boy
Pad for baby to lie on during changing
Diaper pail for diaper disposals

12 undershirts (onesies); 6 newborn, 6 three months
4 infant gowns with elastic bottoms or draw strings
6 sleepers/stretch suits with zip in front
1 swaddle blanket
3-4 pairs of socks
3-4 receiving blankets
2 sweaters
2 hats

Baby bathtub
extra shower head
4-6 washcloths
tearless shampoo
baby soap
brush and comb
nail scissors
bulb syringe nasal asperator

12 nipples and covers
1 bottle and nipple brush for cleaning
dishwasher basket
12 burp cloths
12 bibs
12 bottles for pumped breast milk

Car seat and base
Baby djorn
Breast pump

thermometer
calibrated medicine dropper
pain reliever (tylenol infant drops)
mylicon drops (for gas)
small gauze squares (for wounds)
wound cream (Johnson first aid cream)
small bandages
cool mist vaporizer (for colds)
infant sunscreen (for over 6 months)
pedialyte or ricelyte (for fluid replacement)

baby monitor (video??)
swing
baby book to record progress
baby books to read
infant seat (bouncer)
high chair
baby sling
Car seat and base
Breast pump

blue paint for baby's room
white paint for clouds in baby room
7 white frames for photos
alphabet blocks for decoration
baby first toys
baby activity center
rug
shelf for the whole wall for small toys/alphabet blocks

I was just researching, wouldn't know what to get ever but thank god for internet I just remember how they say that the first three months, we'd all stay home, so need to be prepared

Cool on the same day, let's hope they won't be too late or too early

I don't think 3 onesies/vests in newborn and 3 months size will be enough.

They could in theory have a leaky wet nappy and an explosive up-their-back bowel movement within an hour of each other... If you've only got 1 spare vest, that doesn't leave many options for washing & drying...

Same with the crib sheets, I don't think 2 sets would be enough... I always think at least 3: 1 on, 1 in the wash, 1 spare for accidents. (I do that for all the beds in the house though!)

Wow your list is massive! Mine is small compared to that, but then again I just lumped common stuff together and didn't itemize it yet. Great job!
