work stress

don't know whether i'm posting this in the correct bit or not...

i've just experienced a really hard day a work. After a week off for half term, where i was fighting off a tummy bug, nothing major, but it wiped me out, i've gone back and felt that it was non stop. i thought at one moment that i was just going to scream and walk out! It's not the kids, they're a lovely bunch, it's colleagues and how hard we're expected to work. i'm also being observed tomorrow and feel like i'm very under prepared because today was such a struggle. I feel like i can't do my job properly anymore and i feel guilty. The baby felt like it was moving loads - almost like - slow down.

anyone else feel like this? any advice? am i just being over sensitive???

i've felt like this all day:

Not at all. When I first found out I was pregnant I had just started a new job. I found the demanding workload and job stress to be too much (coupled with my all day nausea).

I get like that at work sometimes, but I think mine is because of hormones because we are really slow. It's just the people I work with, they make me want to pull my hair out on many occasions. Now I am just really stressing because my husband's hours got cut at his work, gas is going up, and it seems like everywhere we turn there are expenses we have to pay for something. Its really depressing. I just want to crawl in a hole. I totally understand where you are coming from though. Try not to let it get you down, things will get better (that is what I keep saying to myself). Here is a hug to help you get through the day.

You´re not being oversensitive at all. I´ve just had a week off work, whilst my brother and sister in law came to visit, I was ill will the flu at the same time, so I don´t feel like I´ve had a week off work to recouperate at all. Back at work yesterday and I had trouble concentrating on what I was doing, I just felt half asleep most of the time and came home with a headache.

All I do is sit in an office and answer the phone at the moment - I would imagine dealing with a classroom full of kids and the added pressure of being observed as well, makes your job very stressful at times. My sis in law and my mum are both teachers in as well, and I know how stressed out they can get sometimes.

Is there no way you can talk to your head teacher and ask her to maybe cover your class for a bit whilst you take a break in the staff room? Or have you not told anyone yet?

thanks for all your replies. the observation was ok. he didn't say anything was wrong with it! would he dare? (I think he's probably trying not to make me worse!)

things are going to have to slow down though i think. i feel that i'm going too fast all of the time. so that's what i'm going to do. i think. i'm also not doing loads of school work at night. (Normally i do at least an hour, after getting back at half five) i feel a bit better today, again thanks for your replies!
