I am 31 weeks and I am still working unfortunately.
If it were up to me, I'd have taken off from about 20 weeks on, but there are too many bills to pay.

totally agree...I am 20 weeks and working up to 36 and seems so far away though I just take it a day at a time now. Try not to think of how long it is, give yourself small treats now and again for lunch and meet friends for coffee at lunch, it makes a difference...I found a cream egg in the car on the way to work this morning and it made my day

Yesterday I found out i would have to start my maternity in 8 weeks time due to office closure and being relocated too far away. I was worried about our financial situation but to be honest were going to have to survive on SMP sooner or later anyway, might as well bring it forward the extra 6 weeks then i intended rather then stress myself travelling. Was a bit upset about it at first but trying to look at it positively now, and looking forward to some me time.

Hope you feel better soon x

i'm the same right now I only started a new jobi n October so i dont get any company benefits at all for maternity pay. So i've decided i'll be taking my leave from 29 weeks - i've got nothing to lose and i dont intend to go back to where i'm working now when my leave ends. Its not that we dont need the money, but for me the less stress from work the better. Plus i also travel 2 and a half hours a day with a 9 hour shift on top of that.

Sending you some hugs

I feel the same now. Im 24 weeks and the walk to and from work is killing me. Theres a 15 minute walk uphill on the way to work, and downhill on the way back and by the time I get to work Im just achey and tired. I wish I could take time off now, but as someone else said, theres too many bills to pay.

Could you not do any work from home, or reshuffle your hours to make it a bit easier maybe?

Hope you feel better soon

I work a desk job (boring....). It is really hard to stay awake after lunch, I just want to lay my head on my desk and go to sleep. Also, there are so many annoying people I work with, they are driving me nuts. I can't wait to be on maternity leave so I don't have to put up with them for awhile. Hang in there girl.

I'm considering taking my maternity leave now too but not sure if i'm allowed :S
I'm not wanting to go back to work there so it won't effect the date I go back...just don't wanna lose out on any SMP.
