shooting pains in vagina

Does anyone know what it means if there are shooting pains in your vagina? They happen sometimes when my baby is moving a lot.

With my first pregnancy I got these pains a couple of weeks before the baby was due (maybe from about week 36 or 37?) and then the night I went into labour (at 39wks) I got them REALLY badly (so much I was crying out) a few hours before my waters broke (contractions started an hour later).

So what are they? Because I've started getting them again in the last few days. This pregnancy everything has started much quicker, from growing a bump, to braxton hicks. Now this pain... I'm feeling a bit paranoid the baby will be early too. I'm only 22 weeks pregnant at the moment.

well i get these sometimes its like having a knife up there!!

i just put it down to all the extra blood and therefore more sensitive nerves?

ask your midwife if your still not sure or it gets worse though

do u mean like up ur vagina around ur cervix? if so ive been getting this, im calling midwife tomorrow cos it hurts and im worried it might be my cervix opening??? x

I sometimes get something like this....kinda like the feeling when you put a tampon in at the wrong angle but worse. I think it's the baby bouncing on the cervix from the over side.
