wisdom tooth

I have a wisdom tooth coming through on the bottom right side. It doesn't hurt much but the gum is slightly sore if i chew on that side (as is it when any teeth come through) and i don't know whether to go to the dentist or not? I am REALLY busy this week so don't really have time to go but everyones saying to me i should go. Its not causing me much pain and its not like i can have it taken out atm anyways due to being pregnant. What does everyoe here think? x

if it's not really bothering you much then i'd leave it alone. often when a wisdom tooth starts to come through and has a bit of a gum flap, you can get a small infection due to being unable to clean it properly. if the gum is swollen, make sure you clean it really well when you brush - don't avoid it as this will only make it worse.

if it becomes more painful then your dentist should be able to give you a short course of antibiotics to settle it down. if there's room for it to come through then there's usually no need to take it out

xx

Ohh I know how painful they can be I've had two out, sorry three out, I was told in the first three months I would be able to see a hygenist (probably spelt that wrong) to have my teeth cleaned but, I was told under no circumstances that I was to have any work done, as am not allowed anything bar paracetamol, so I would ask your doctor before you see the dentist, just in case x

I would say if its not giving you to much pain then leave it for now.

I had to have one pulled when I was pregnant, and it was in my second trimester..It got infected and hurt so bad! If I were you, I'd leave it alone till after you have the baby..
