Urine Sample - white blood cells, +++ protein but normal blood pressure - any ideas??

I saw my GP yesterday as I've been feeling generally unwell.

She tested my urine and found white blood cells and +++ of protein in my urine??
She said the presence of blood cells would indicate an infection possibly kidney / water and commented that my urine was cloudy so sent it off for analysis.

My blood pressure was fine and as I have felt unwell for last couple of weeks I guess this would explain an "infection" but im concerned what the +++ protein means as everything I seem to read refers to pre-eclampsia yet my blood pressure was fine.

Wont get the results until next week so just wondering if anyone had any experience of this? x

Sounds like a urine/water infection. Im sure some antibiotics will clear it up. in the meantime try to drink plenty of clear fluids and cranberry juice. Hope all clears up soon. xx

I had the exact same thing and docs prescribed me some cefalexin to clear up an infection.... which, when my results came back the next day, it appeared I never had!

I think sometimes things like that can just happen. I had vaginal swabs done too and there was nothing there either. my BP was fine.

I had a doctors appointment yesterday with the same thing - and am on antibiotics for a urine infection. The white blood cells are the infection and the red blood cells (protein) are the result of your bladder being irritated by the infection..

I was told I have this and it is an infection. My doctor never gave me antibiotics, just told me to drink lots of water to flush it out.
