Smile

Hey I had this very same problem the other week, I know only too well how horrible it is!! I was constipated for about 5 days so when and bought prune juice, I drank a glass of it in the morning and at night The stuff is nasty! really thick and awful!! that didn't work, I then phoned my Midwife and she told me that since it was now over a week I could take some Senokot! (apparently wrong advice ) but that didn't work, I was then advised to take glycerin suppositories, which helped only a little I was miserable and now into week 3!! So I gave up on my Midwife and phoned my Doctor who was Infuriated at my Midwife for her suggestions, he gave me a prescription for Lactulose! and you know what it's great, I'm all flushed out lol I would see your doc for a prescription for that before it gets really sore! I was laid up with really bad craps and back ache because of it, not nice and it made me feel really sick, loss of appitite ect Plus as a safty measure for it not to happen again after the medicine has worked try and drink more water. I've always been a bit of pain for not drinking enough and when your pregnant your body uses up more water than ever so that very well could be what the problem is.

Hope you feel better soon, take care

lol. I've never tried prune juice but I love semi dried prunes. I eat loads of them!!

I would have thought with the amount you've had it should have worked. Sometimes these things just take time and don't work till the next day. Maybe your doctor can give you a laxitive to help.

Good luck!

Have you tried apple juice? You might like the taste better and it's supposed to be a natural laxative.

For years I suffered from irritable bowel disease and on a normal basis, I would eat something small, bloat and feel 9 months pregnant, and there were days where I didn't go to the bathroom at all. It sucked, and I wasn't even pregnant.

My first pregnancy somehow corrected the problem and I don't have it too often anymore.

Something that helped me go is a cup or two of coffee in the morning, and even though I am pregnant, I still drink it.

But that's probably not good advice if you are not a coffee drinker or are staying away from caffeine.

So here's something else, try boiling water and put some lemon in it. For some reason, the warm liquids helped me.

Another thing, try drinking your eight glasses of water everyday. I don't normally but I love it with lemon and drink more of the stuff when I do have a slice of lemon in it.

To ease the pain, a few things relax my stomach....a hot water bottle or a nice bath This may not make you go, but will help ease the gas cramps!

I went into a herbalist today and they recommended linseed. You have to put a tablespoon in some milk overnight to let them swell then put them off your breakfast the next day.
I actually bought them for my friend who is having bad problems so ill let you know if it works!
