Anyone else have lower back pain?

Has anyone else got this? My lower back really aches today.

Is it caused by bad posture?

Anyone know of any ways to relieve it - would a walk help or make it worse?

Lou

I wish I could help - it's on my list of things to talk to my midwife about when I see her next week.

My lower back gets really achy and sore and stiff particularly when I sit in one position for a long time. However it can also be sore when I walk..I too would be grateful for advice

xx

I told my MW about my constant backpain and she suggested I get a back brace from the hosp.
I havnt asked for one yet, but its always an option.

My pain is more round my hips than actual back so I'm not sure a brace woudl help?

Yes, I get a lot of lower back pain, and I was prone to it before getting pregnant as well. I think it's because I work at a computer all day long. I have a very bad habit of crossing my legs while at the computer as well - DO NOT DO THIS! - although I've been getting a lot better since being pregnant.

I would highly recommend looking for a prenatal yoga class in your area. I just started one a couple weeks back and it is fabulous. You can get lots of great tips and learn stretches that will help your back.

Also, you should see if there is a prenatal physio class offered on the NHS where you are. Here it was just a one-off, 1-hour class, but she went over tons of tips and exercises and things you can do to stay comfortable during pregnancy; lots of that was about taking care of your back. (She also stressed how bad it is to cross your legs!)

Thanks Sekhmet. There are no antenatal yoga or physio classes in my area but I've recently got a antenatal yoga dvd so maybe if I do that regularly it will help
