i just notice that my nails are not healthy, it started to break when i was clipping. i drink a glass of milk for pregnant woman and a cup of yogurt. I guess i need to take more calcium for baby and myself too. How much you need to take and what do you eat to get enough calcium?

do our pregnancy vitamin tablets contain calcium? I'm not sure, they might.

I have a glass of milk most days, then usually some cheese, maybe cereal with milk, couple of cups of tea with milk..

nothing outstanding really. I'm trying to make an effort to make sure I'm getting more, especially right now as babies bones are hardening etc.

I eat a lot of cheese so I don't think I have too much of a problem. Obviously the baby will take what it needs from you, even if this leaves you lacking.

Other than obviously milk and cheese, you can get it from canned fish like sardines, salmon and makeral, oats, some nuts - I think almonds, oranges, Broccoli, kale - lot's of veg I think.

I like bananas and cream. In fact everything and cream.

Oh and you also need to have Vitamin D to absorb the calcium which you get from natural sunlight, most pregnancy multivitamins and most food which contains calcium.

Hope that helps.

You need any 3 portions of the following to get enough calcium - A portion of calcium could be an average-sized glass (200ml) of milk, a small pot (150g) of yogurt and a match-box sized (30g) piece of cheese. x

Prenatal vitamins usually do contain calcium. Since I'm not a milk drinker though my OB put me on a calcium and Vitamin D supplement, so I take two supplements plus my prenatal vitamin daily. I would consult your doctor though before taking anything.
