Fetal Movements

I have been able to feel my baby move and kick for a few weeks now and over the last 24 hours, I haven't felt her as much. Normally when I eat breakfast on a morning she is really active but nothing this morning and nothing when I went to bed last night, she normally gets really alert when I go to bed.

Anyway, have been awake since 4am and am worried so rung my local Triage Midwife who said it was pointless going in cos she couldn't monitor my baby's heartbeat at this early stage?? She said it's normal to have less movement at this stage too. She said if I am anxious to see my local midwife! I have rung midwife and left a message. Anyone else have this?

Hi

Just wanted to put your mind at rest I went through phases where baby was really active and then other days really quiet, I always worried and wondered whether I should be letting someone know.

Once I got to about 23/24 weeks I started to feel Bean moving more often and then this weekend he/she must have been having a lazy weekend again as I didn't feel much movement until last night when I went to bed and my bump was moving all over.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry and follow your gut instinct, your midwife would rather check you over a million times than you sit there and not say anything

xxx

I am sure all is fine, Loobylou - but you were right to worry and I hope your midwife gets in touch to reassure you soon.

This happened to me at 20/21wks - baby was non-stop for 6 days then suddenly nothing at all for over 2 days - I had my 20wk scan already arranged for on the 3rd day of no movement so just waited it out. Turned out all is well - baby had just found a new cosier position! I did say to the doctor that I had been worried and they said we shouldnt expect movements every day until around 28wks.

Hope you are ok! x

Thanks girls so much. I feel a bit better now

She has kicked me a couple of times since posting too. Not as active as normal but at least she's moving a bit.
