Heartburn

Hi

I have been having really bad heartburn for the last few nights to the point where its making me sick. I have tried gaviston but that makes me throw up. Is there anything else I can take instead. I dont see the midwife or consultant again until my 20 week scan on 25th Feb and I cant wait that long.

Thanks

Nikki

Tums, though they don't work for me. I just sleep in my recliner and hope it helps. I also try not to eat for about 3 hours before I go to bed. Hope it gets better for you

drink milk. period.
thats the only thing that helps me, and I get sick from it too. it calms it amazingly. just drink a small/medium cup of milk every time you get heartburn.

Thanks will buy some tums tomorrow and hope they help. Will also try the milk tonight.

I was told I may get heartburn as I have been on a coca cola diet for the last few month and just came off it, but wasnt expecting it quite as bad as this.

I don't know if I have ever had heartburn before (sounds stupid I know), but I think I am suffering from it as well. Everyone I know took Tums when they were pregnant. It was their favorite candy. Oh, the joys of being pregnant. Feel better soon.

I had to cut out dark leafy greens like broccoli and replace them with salads to fix my heartburn. Someone once suggested warm water with lemon to alleviate heartburn.
