Placenta is low...

hey there, I was sooo excited when I say my ultrasound pics, at 19 weeks. My Dr. called after to tell me that baby looks great ( thank goodness!), though my placenta is low. she said not to worry... and they will see how the placenta is at my 32 week ultrasound.... this seems like forever away from now.
She told my that I could possibly hemorriage, and that I need to be on "Pelvic rest"... no intercourse or anything poking around down there... this sucks, we were really enjoying sex, and I loved the feeling of these amazing orgasms that I was experiencing..... so I am 100% for baby's safety, and I guess minen too... if there is a possibility of non stop bleeding... though I really wish that I could have a scan sooner or something to reassure me that everthing is okay.... if there is anything else that I need to do... should i not worry yet, easier said then done!
Has anyone else experienced a low placenta....
this is a little self hug!

hi hun thought I'd pop in and reply as I had a low placenta with my first.

Everything was fine and it had moved by the second scan....it does for most women so I believe.

I am surpised he said no sex though! I was never told this and we carried on as normal.

xxx

I had this same problem at around 14 wks and by my 20 wk scan my placenta had moved ALOT. So more than likely between how and your next scan your placenta will probably move as well since the uterus has a ways to grow. It does suck being on pelvic rest though I thought I was going to explode by my next scan

Don't worry, it's a pretty common problem and the placenta usually moves

Thanks, It's good to hear from others experiences when I feel worried...
I also read that sometimes there is a "false positive' for a low placenta when the bladder is really full... I did drink way to much water befor my scan.
The only thing that sucks is waiting...... maybe is I do thisthe placenta will move up more!

well it's good to know that should i fell secure with a little gentle cheating from Dr.s advice.... I will listen carefully to my body... and perhapse a gentle little poke now and then will be okay!
everything has been fine so far.. no bleeding or anything....
and it seems like your little one has turned out beautifuly..from the photos...
i just wish to do without any worry.... though I guess there is always a special little bump to be concerned about.... have a good night!

Yeah I was told no sex too I did cheat alittle when we got closer to my 20 wk scan because I figured it would be okay but we were both super paranoid so it wasn't as fun as it should have been I shouldn't had worried because at my scan it had moved from really low to pretty high, but you never know with these things. But alittle cheating most likely won't hurt anything.
