I'm Currently Feeling: | Painful cramps Last night I started feeling strange pains in my abdomen. It's hard to describe. It's like my insides are being tied in a knot and then tightened every few minutes. This is my second pregnancy, so I know what the typical stretching feels like, and this is not it! This is something I have never felt before, and I am a little freaked about it. I notice if I sit in one spot or lay down it goes away, but as soon as I get up or pick up my son, or do anything that requires lifting or bending or anything like that, it starts up again. I am hesitant to call my doctor just yet... because I wanted to ask you ladies if you have felt this type of pain before, and possibly offer a suggestion as to what it may be? I googled my symptoms and only came up with possible uterine stretching (which I don't think is what it is) late miscarriage (except I am not bleeding) or pre term labor, which at this point would be nothing more than a miscarriage anyway since I am only in the 17th week. I hope I am just overreacting, and I will try taking it easy until my next appt, which is a week from tomorrow. If anyone has any suggestions on possible causes for this pain, please let me know. Again... it feels like intense ripping of my insides... or as if I am being stunned with a stun gun on my belly... I envision the pain as electricity traveling through my stomach... This is the best way I can describe it, sorry. Thank you | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | is it in the middle of your belly or on the sides?
if in the middle it is very likely it is round ligament pain, but if it is in the middle, i really have no clue what it could be. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | If they're really severe hon I would call your doctor and get it checked out. It might be nothing and it might just be stretching but at least getting a medical opinion would put your mind at ease. I haven't experienced cramps like that only bad hip pains etc. You can still have contractions without any bleeding at this point, so if they're pretty bad its best to go in. I hope everything is ok | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I get severe pains in my abdomen every couple of nights but I'm also on medication for contractions. It could be round ligament if it's off to the side. Sometimes I will try taking a nap and seeing if I can sleep it off. I would call your doctor for some reassurance if what your feeling is very painful. Hope your feeling better!! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've had that 'electric' pain a lot too. Mine is like an electric shock going around my whole stomach, but it's up higher than my uterus. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I called my Dr and they told me to take some tylenol and rest... gee, that would be a lot easier without a one year old to feed, play with, bathe, get dressed, etc! I am actually feeling a little better, so maybe the Tylenol helped. Thanks for the responses ladies. | | | | Status: Offline

I mean, I am sorry you've had it too, but at the same time at least I know I am not alone. When I try to explain the pain... that's all I can think of as a description! | | | | Status: Offline
