well, well, not what i was expecting.

I went to the hospital today for a routine check up (i have a heart condition)
and i've not been having any problems so i was quite happy.

i gave the nurse my sample and she checked for protein etc, it turns out i have a bit of blood in my urine, nurse said it was nothing to worry about if i wasn't having any pains.
(i told her that the night before i had a bit of an ache, felt like trapped wind though but really uncomfortable) she said not to worry. Anyone else had this?

So after seeing the nurse i saw my consultant (man of few words)
he asked me how i was and i said i was fine and enjoying my pregnancy more now.
also he asked me if i had any issues with my heart, i said no.
after this he got up and goes, 'Right, i'll just take you down the corridor for a scan'

MY FACE MUST HAVE BEEN A RIGHT PICTURE!
*Gormless* expression i'm sure!

So i ran to the waiting room and grabbed my OH.

We got to see our little girl for the third time she was so active she kicked the probe hard! haha.

It turns out the consultant was just checking for blood flow and if our little girl had any heart defects because of my heart condition, but it was a shock scan i tell you that!

it was wonderful though, and she's happy and healthy x

Congratulations, you can never have too many scans! Brilliant to have your little girl's heart checked out too

Re blood in urine - SOMETIMES you can have a "silent" UTI (I had one diagnosed - lab test results back - today ). I only had a sample fully tested because I had really odd "night chills" last week - GP couldn't think of anything else, so sent a sample for full screening (I had already had a couple of borderline sample results a couple of months back...). Apart from the "night chills" (once a week ago, and once a month previous to that) I have had NO UTI symptoms... I am now on anti-biotics.

If you have any doubts, then go to your GP, explain and request a sample tested.

Yes hun i have the same but an accessory pathway...

(im sure you know but i'll explain.)

you have your natural pacemaker which tells your heart when to beat..
this electric signal runs down towards a sensor (which then knows to make your heartbeat)..
i have TWO of these! and they get confused with each other because they're very close together and just make my heart beat lots and lots.

I'm having an Echocardiogram on thursday to check my heart size, health and blood flow

Having SVT isn't nice sometimes hope you don't suffer with it too bad xxx

Oooo that's interesting OT thanks.
I'll keep an eye out for obvious symptoms and un-obvious ones! hehe.

hi emalou90

i hope your SVT is stable, have you had any treatment? mine was terrible because of the added valve problem untill 3years ago, ive been on loads of sotolol, had 2 ablations and finally had to have an internal defibrilator fitted, its now under control but i still ossasionaly need to go to A+E and have adenosine ( stops and starts the heart again in a second)

how are you finding the pregnancy im begining to get more racing ,

x
