I thought it was only after 30 weeks that you should let MW know if you dont get 10 movements a day as before then it can be a bit unpredictable as still a bit small.. although my LO seems to spend most of the days wiggling and kicking me

my midwife hasnt said anything about it tbh, i think as long as you are feeling the amount of movement that is normal to you then its fine.

Looking at my pregnancy book they should tell you to do it later on, after 30 weeks as someone else said.

I was at the doctors last week and he just asked if I could feel him moving and I said "yeah, all the time" and he seemed happy enough with that.

Sometimes midwives do say funny things, I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure you'd notice if your little one stopped moving/moved less than normal without having to count, I know I would.

My LO movements are so unpredictable, very busy one day and quiet the next, there's no way I would want to be counting them yet (anterior placenta). My midwife mentioned something about counting movements very early on, but she hasn't mentioned it since. I was under the impression you weren't supposed to do it until after 28 weeks, I assume we'll discuss it on our next appt. (26th sept) Your midwife sounds like a bit of a weirdo, you're not bloody psychic!
