how far down is baby?

I read that at my stage - 15/16 weeks the uterus is about 3inches below my belly botton. I guess this is the upper limit for baby?....gosh, he/she is low down....so the buldge and bump higher up is just my innerds squishing up? sometimes it feel so hard.

is this right?

I was thinking about this the other day when i went to midwifes, when she was listening to heart beat she used the doppler and found the baby still quite low down, lower then i expected, was probably a a couple of inches lower then belly button like you said. She said this was normal and that everything was moving up/growing or whatever it does! normally anyway.

I'm further on but at 18 weeks when I was in hospital the heartbeat was very low down. Now my midwife can find it anywhere up to my ribs! It'll grow quickly!

I was shocked when I went in to my OB the first time and they looked for the heartbeat at how low the baby was! Like you I've noticed that up above my belly button is hard! I thought it was the baby until my appointment!!

My Peanut is still down really low too. She can't really hang out on one side anymore though, since she's getting too big, she's kinda stretched out across the lower area. Kinda weird though..where the tech found her head on the scan yesterday is where I feel all my movement, could've sworn her feet were right there.
