Help, had a bleed , blood clot near cervix...

I went to wee this afternoon and when i wiped i had bloody cm. Absolutely panicked, i've not had any bleeding this pregnancy and am 17 weeks.

Thank God my parents were here (they don't live near me) so they came to look after my kids and i went to the hospital.

I had an internal and she said she could see a small blood clot (she said half a cm size) but cervix was closed. She did a scan and we saw baby's heartbeating and kicking around. She basically said baby seemed fine but couldn't say why i had the clot there, could be something or nothing - i guess they can't be too specific cos they just don't know.

I'm booked in for a scan on tuesday and hopefully won't bleed anymore.

Has anyone else had anything similar, feeling a bit panicky and DH is away until friday so no one to stress with!

sorry you had such a rubbish time,

i hope things settle and you not bleed anymore

the good thing is there was no obviouse cause on the scan, maybe tuesdays scan will shed more light for you, it could just end up being 'one of those things' that you dont get an snwer to and dont bother you again

did they advise you to rest up untill the next scan

dont stress darling, easier said than done i know, rest lots

I had this at 17 weeks as well... I bled really heavily and the docs said it would either come out or reabsorb into my body but they were confident the baby was ok...and he is.

It was a worrying time but better to know there was something there to come out because I bled nearly every week from conception until 21 weeks when it eventually came away and they only identified it at 17 weeks so all the weeks before that were torturous and I was constantly thinking I was losing him.

I hope you are ok and it is as harmless as mine. xx

Sorry for the scare you've had! Every time I've bled, there's been a clot or two but bubs has been fine and there's been no notable reason for why it's happened. Hopefully all goes well at your next scan!

iv just had a scare with blood too at 16+5 it wasnt a clot i was told they couldnt tell where bleeding was coming from but cervix was closed, i got such a fright its the worst

bleedings stopped now they never scanned me but listened to hb so were happy to send me away everything crossed everything stays as it should
