Ultrasound Gender at 15+6

I am so excited for Monday which is when I will have my first Ultrasound. They say it is to confirm dates so not explicitly for gender or anatomy...what do you guys think though, will we be able to see what we are having? I should be 15+6 on Monday...It is going to be a looong time until Monday.

They would possibly be able to tell but if they will even look for you is another question! xxx

I found out at 16+2...so I would say yes, it is possible. Especially if it is a boy, their little wee wee's are easier to see.

Yeah...that is exactly what i was wondering. I know for a fact that the dating ultrasounds are only scheduled to last around around 5 min. So I guess I will be at the mercy of the technician. Which is fine...all I want to see is the baby and that it looks the way it should at this point as well as having the date confirmed. For some reason I think it is off. Just a feeling.

I had a scan at 15 weeks with Alex and saw he was a boy but she wouldnt even tell me one way or another just said its too soon but there was definately his willy there!!! I hope you get to find out, really does depend on the person scanning, hope you get a nice person

At that age they should fit completely on the screen so, if he's a boy, you might be able to see whether they look or not.

I don't think NHS will look that early as it's not always clear. Most will look at the detailed anomoly scan, but won't push it if they have their legs crossed! Some hospitals won't look at all, so it might be worth asking if they have a policy on it.

Either way, I hope you enjoy your scan, seeing baby on the screen is wonderful.

They should be able to tell you, Ive got my gender scan tomorrow and i'll be 15w 5d, but it is specifically a gender scan, so they may not tell you?? No harm in asking though. Good luck, let us know how you go. xx
