Pain in the bum - literally!

Hi ladies,

For the past week or so I've had a shooting, stabbing pain in my left bum cheek that goes down towards the back of my leg when I walk or move starting with my left leg?

Anyone else had this? I'll be 20 weeks on Wednesday. What was the treatment?

Many thanks,

Gem x

I had it from about where you are now for the rest of my pregnancy. Sadly, there is not much you can do about it.

ive had it too the midwife told me its the way the baby is lying think its something to do with it pushing down on a nerve and it pretty much stays like that but its nothing to worry about x x x

I've been getting the same thing (but on my right cheek!)

To be honest I haven't mentioned it to my midwife as it isn't a regular thing but my mum said (remember mums know everything hehe!) that the baby was probably positioned on my sciatic nerve!

So I haven't worried much about it....all these aches and pains seem to be normal xx

I had the exact same thing for a couple weeks during the end of first tri. Like the others have said, doctor just said it was the way baby was lying. Luckily for me, she's moved now and hasn't found the magic nerve spot again.

sciatica - had it off and on since 16 weeks! I'm a nurse so spend a lot of my shift standing which makes it worse - justneed to keep moving I'm afraid, warm bath helps. Not a lot else can be done I'm afraid! Just one of the many joys!
xx

I had it when i was 17-20weeks and it sorted itself out.Sometimes it goes but if it is Sciatica it`ll hang around maybe for the rest of the pregnancy.Good luck.
