My hubby is very excited now, at first he was happy but felt left out as he felt he couldn't do anything for me and couldn't feel the kicks etc, now he can play with my bump, talk to her and watch her wriggle around so he is alot more excited

My DH has been happy/worried/shocked/excited/relieved/sad/ everything!

When I was in my first trimester, I was SOOOO SICK. He worried about me, and worried the baby was trying to kill me lol.

The beginning of the second trimester, he was helpful, and supportive... would tell me to be careful with I carried things, etc. Every little "oh" I made (as ligaments stretched and normal preggo aches and pains ) made him jump "what's wrong? Baby hurt?"

He's starting to do dishes for me now, and other domestic tasks But I like cooking and laundry (in general and because I have a desk job, it helps me get up and moving around!)

DH asks about LO, how she's doing, if she's been moving and is worried that she's still trying to hurt me.

But since our sonogram, he's very happy she's healthy and doing well. He's still very worried about me - I hope he's helpful to me in the delivery room

I keep telling him I'm not SICK, I'm PREGNANT

My DH is just now coming out of the shock of it all and getting excited. He even sent me a website the other day for a monogramed spoon that he saw that he wants to buy . He's been great in other ways too, with my morning sickness he's had to take on a lot more of the cooking and cleaning duties which has been great! And lately he's started talking to my stomach.

Mine has bought himself "The Papa Handbook" and has been reading that in his lunch hour at work!!! He´s not a reader at all, never reads books at home, so for him to go and buy a book and stick at it, says something!!!

He´s taken on more of his fair share of the housework though, which makes me feel guilty sometimes, when I´m laid out on the sofa, cos I´m tired out and he´s clearing everything up, but he says it doesn´t matter.

He´ll give my back and my tummy a rub in the evenings as well and have a little chat with it!!

That's awesome that your hubby goes all out for you. My hubby is excited and he will pick up food and stuff for me if I'm really craving it, but he doesn't go all out like that. That is really cool, take advantage. I wish my hubby would read up on the baby's development, but he goes to the doctor appointments with me and was really excited when we heard the heart beat.

My OH took ages to come to terms with it and kept talking about how it would ruin my body & our lives even though we wanted to have kids but then he changed and is really excited. He doesn't get excited about buying stuff for baby but he likes feeling him kick and tries to sleep as much of the night as he can touching my bump. He even reasures me about how my body is changing now and says he really likes my bump. He loved the 20 week scan seeing him move. He missed the first scan I had at 9 weeks where baby wiggled which I found magical and the scan I had at 11 weeks, baby didn't move so the 20 week scan was great for him.

He hasn't come with me for a single midwife or doctors appointment though even though I have to go to his doctors appointments with him. He doesn't do anything extra either like help more around the house but he still does his usual bits & I guess thats just him & it doesn't really bother me.

My boyfriend is still traumatized and doesn't like to think about the impending baby. ::rolls eyes:: Anytime I bring it up he gets all panicky and depressed, so I mainly keep it to myself now. :P He has school to focus on, and I don't really see the point of getting him all worried. He'll come around when he's ready. :/

But I'm really jealous of you ladies with supportive, excited husbands!!!

Ah, you all have such amazing husbands. I know my DH will be super supportive when I get pregnant because he is really supportive with the TTC stuff. I can not wait until we get to where you guys are!

Wishing you all healthy and happy children!

sweet! and mildly amusing..what would his mates say? monogramed spoon indeed. heheh. sweetie.

My DB s in hospital at the mo. I just rang him there and he says he's been showing the last scan pic off to the nurses! How lovely...unless it's an excuse to keep them pretty nurses chatting!
