I am paying for them. it might not be a lot of money to some but to me handng over money for something i have no idea is worth or not is a lot. I am single and pregnant and have spd and cant walk, i had to quid my job so personally find it a bit insulting to read ''your not really paying for them'' i'm paying for everything since i found out i was pg in easter.

NCT is a charity, its whole philosophy is that they dont want people who cant afford the 140 or whtv it is to loose out, they dont see why everyone can go to the classes just because of income. Its not free.

I am doing midwife ones aswell anyways. the same problem lies there. Its not about who runs it its in general going alone that im worried about and asking about.

sorry if this post seems.. defensive, but i find it a bit insulting that you said '' im not really paying for them '' Because i did pay for them. And i have to pay for the petrol for a 25 min journey there and back every week. And i have to help my parents for putting me on their car insurance. my employer screwed me out of mat pay and mat allowance. So you shouldnt say things like that. any money is money and i didnt hand over a cheque foR £0 did i.

I think ill be ok going alone, i dont have a choice really and i am sure they wont make me feel uncomfortable when they see im on my own.

Good to hear you can pair up with the teacher tho! haha, ill be the looser at the end with no partner, haha, nah im sure itll be ok. hopefully at least one other person goes alone. ( i know its not all men's 'cup of tea' so they might get outta it with their OH - or maybe they work away )

I'm not sure Ellie... I just went on and when it said whens your duedate then those are the classes that came up in my area? ive emailed the women and spoken to her a few times about the classes, and shes said thats the class for dec due dates....I thought it was too early!!! I checked the letters this morning when i was filling out the form, and i thought i had a good 4 weeks till it started, but it starts in 2 weeks!! eek,
You could just email.. contact us section will have an email for the leader in your area. They may take a few days tho to reply because its a charity and they are volounteering its part time and they have other jobs and stuff going on.
Or maybe theres a phone number? If it says thats your classes for your due date im assuming its right? but it does seem weird its so diff timing from mine,

She's paying 20 quid! That's like a whole week's food shopping to me. It might be nothing to some people but being a single mum is a big struggle and every penny counts.

Just wanted to say that we're booked on to antenatal classes with nct, we're doing 8 sessions and they start when i am 29+5 and end when i am 36+5

I think they recommend that your classes finish no later than 38 weeks (as you may well be having your LO by then!) but no earlier than 34 weeks (as otherwise you'll forget all the info before LO gets here, as 6 weeks, plus maybe 2 more if you go over is a long time to remember everything, especially with pregnancy brain! Lol)

So even though yours are finishing a bit later than ours, it's not by much. It's probably the case that they had another set of classes finishing slightly earlier but they were booked up.

Also, on the original topic- please don't worry hun OH and have booked on to NCT classes like i say and he's hoping to be there for as many as he can but already work have put him down for a nightshift for 2 out of the 8 sessions so there will be evenings when i'll be going alone, and like you, i'm unsure about taking a friend, as really i am there to get as much info as possible, ask loads of dumb questions and make new friends! So i will just try to be brave. And i know if we have any single mums in our classes, OH and i won't be spending the time snogging in front of them, we're both really looking forward to meeting other mum's and dad's to be in our area whether they come as a pair or not
