Is your hydration ok?

Is it the calf? If so were you stretching it or walking on it... if I have cramp I HAVE to walk around (only way to relief it ).

Yeah, I've had this once properly, and avoided it about four times. I know something is changing in my legs as they feel swollen.

Things I've heard that help:
Increase in Calcium and Potassium: Although I've had a banana a day since, if you look at this list, LOADS of other foods have more potassium in them.

Increase in circulation, getting regular exercise. walking etc.
Stretching. Yoga is good. I've just been stretching the HELL out of my right calf after every walk.

And I agree with QT that walking is ESSENTIAL. The days i GO out actually for a walk, (half an hour) my leg don't feel tight and swollen.

There are other things listed by someone lovely on another thread about cramps somewhere.

Best of luck!

Hummmmm
Now see... I have noticed my salt intake has increased right along side my water intake. I literally drink water all day, and even wake up at night to do so. Perhaps I didn't have enough salt to balance me out that week...

It is definitely possible... there are so many causes for cramps, it is hard to pinpoint what your cause is... except by trying things and seeing if they reduce it a bit. High water intake is one to watch... since your electrolytes will be more dilute and that can definitely cause cramp.

As to how much salt is the right amount... hard to know . Most of us are very "salt conscious" these days (rightly so), but if your water intake is high, then maybe just add a little more to your diet...

Keeping getting up and about and stay mobile, though - keep those muscles active (although not easy to do when you sleep - unless you ahve mutliple WC trips during the night... like me )

Being pregnant, it may be hard to get rid of cramps altogether...

Yeah I get them too. The only thing I find that works for me is I jump straight out of bed and put my foot flat on the floor.
