Gaviscon tablets, i dunno if i need to suck, chew or swallow lol

Im suffering from heart burn lately mainly in the night, so i popped to morrisons and brought me some gaviscon tablets (only a small container that fits in ur handbag)...ive looked at the directions and it doesnt tell me how to take them...do i suck them till they dissolve? chew them? or swollow hole with water?

And are they safe?

Man i feel silly

I don't have them but I've just looked at Boots.com & it says that you should 'chew thoroughly before swallowing', all the handbag sized packs said that.

I googled whether it's safe too & the first few that I read said that it is safe during pregnancy. I remember the chemist told me not to have my soluble paracetamol if I've had gaviscon as they are both high in sodium so it must be ok else he wouldn't have said that.

I hope you feel better soon. I started with heart burn last night & have it again tonight......first time during my pregnancy!!!

Is that the same thing as tums? I have never heard of those. Maybe is it just a different brand from over here in the US. I take tums chewables for heartburn they taste like candy and always seem to do the trick

They are calcium supplements.

Have you ripped back the paper on the back, im sure it opens a little booklet with the instructions in..?
You chew them I think and they're safe during pregnancy.

Yes, but it doesnt say how to take them unless ive completely missed it lol...im chewing one now..ewww

I hate them too, sometimes I wonder if id rather have the heartburn than eat them lol.

well ladies so far so good...i thought i was gonna throw up with this heatburn just, it burns so much...but its setteling now, they work fast!!!
