Hypertension?

I am only just 16weeks tomorrow and this is pregnancy #9 and baby #6. I have never ever had hypertension in my life even in delivery my highest bp has been 120/80. At my booking app. it was 120/70 and at my last app 4weeks ago it was 130/80. I thought it was a one off but the other day we did bp's in class as im a midwifery student and it was 142/90. My lecturer checked it 4 times throughout the 2hr class and it remained there. Today at my middy app it was exactly the same 142/90 and this has me somewhat concerned as I have never had this problem at all. Its a bit early for pre eclampsia as that happens after 20weeks gest. There is no protein in my urine so im completely baffled. I know its not really that high but it is for me and I really dont want it to get any higher. I am to do bloods to check my GPH levels so wont know for a few days whats what but wanted to know if anyone else has had the same thing this early??? Thanks

I had really bad bp with baby no'1, she had to be induced early. baby 2 was absolutely fine, with this one my bp at 10 weeks was 140/94, i was immediately referred to the hospital where it promptly went back to normal, I was told to go to the dr every week for a bp test but tbh its too far and too much hassle, plus every time i walk in the dr's surgery it goes up a notch! My midwife and I decided the best thing is to buy my own machine which i have and now do my own bp every other day. it stays around 117/77 ish so Im ok for now. Its the protein you really need to watch out for i think, also try not to get too stressed as that pushes mine up straight away.

Thanks Hondagirl! Its reassuring to know different pregnancies are different in this way. I was starting to worry something may have been wrong with bubz since this is the only pregnancy thats been so different!!!

Hi Fran! Haven't seen you in a while.

Maybe a holiday is needed to keep the blood pressure at bay. All seriousness though, hope your midwife/docs are able to sort it soon.
