Maternity Jeans

With maternity jeans is it just the waist that is different? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm just about to spend a small fortune on a pair of maternity jeans I really like, so want to make sure I'm going to get my moneys worth!

I'm usually a size 10, but with pregnancy I have gained a little bit of weight in my thighs and bum aswell as my stomagh.

With sizes being so different, I have found some of my size 10 jeans to be alot smaller and tighter than others.

I was wondering if the girls on here have found maternity jeans to be on the more comfortable end of their size?

i have only brought maternity clothes for work so far, combats and black trousers, bbut i got both in a 16 (im normally a 14/16) and i could of got away with a 14 with pleanty of room still.... so i think a 10 would be ok, but you can always return them if there is a problem

Matrnity Jeans

I bought a pair in Next last week and I got the same size as I was before I became pregnant. There is loads of room in them and they are much more comfy than my own jeans and they look like something I'd wear before I got pregnant!

I used to be a size 10 and when i tried on mamas and papas size 10 maternity (when i was over a size 10 because I was about 12 weeks or something) they fit really nice and perfect and comfy.

But the lady explained that with mamas and papas you buy a size bigger and they have these pull in tab things in the back on the inside.

BUT they don't fit round the rest of me but they are quite comfy and since i'm quite a casual/indy girl type that suits me fine.

Another tall gal like myself! I had the same problem hun, but have found 'Next' to have a great range for tall people, that's where I'm getting mine.

I'm looking at two pairs at £45 each, which to me 90 quid for two pairs of jeans isn't cheap, but I figure it will be worth it as I will live in them. That and the fact that I really can't put off getting maternity gear any longer.

Hi, have you tried looking at next? I know they do a long range so these may be long enough. I know on the next directory online you can buy extra long in all normal jeans, so they might do it on thier maternity range. Might be no use, but thought I'd mention it.

On the jeans front I got mine from next!! I actually got a size smaller & they fit nicely (altho I just thought, I always had to buy a larger size cause of my belly, so that must be why!!) I've heard most maternity stuff is more generous with the sizes, so I think a 10 should b ok.

I got mine from mamas and papas in a 10 and they are fantastic.

Have recently discovered though that I may now be a 12 as my butt and thighs have gotten a bit bigger :/ Think I bought the 10 before that though and now they've stretched to fit!

Thats brilliant Summerstars and Boomerslady.

I will definitely have to check that out. Im fed up of wearing leggings and baggy combats.

You're right Summerstars £90 is a bit pricey but if they're going to last you. Definitely worth it. I've noticed a lot of people selling their maternity jeans on ebay once they've finished with them....chance to make some of your money back when you don't need them anymore.

I got a pair from Dorothy Perkins - the last pair of maternity jeans in the sale, in my size - it was fated. I bought my normal size (18), and they fit very nicely. They have a nice 2" band on the top. Very comfy... (used my student discount, and ended up paying a tenner, as opposed to £24. Love it!

Got a pair from Mamas and Papas too though, and it has a band that goes to just under my bust, and they fall down quite a lot. Also, very hot in summer, but very supportive too...
