Need your opinions/help please!?!?

I am 18 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have been on strict bed rest for 3 weeks and I was finally able to start walking around the house this past weekend. Now ever since then I have this feeling in my um...sorry vaginal opening that literally feels like a knife stabbing. Its a sharp shooting pain that goes straight up and down and it comes and goes through the day. I didnt have anything like this with the first and my next dr.appt is the 26th. Am I over reacting or has someone else out there had a similar experience?? Thanks

And I dont know if its part of the same thing or just carrying over but I have really bad cramps afterwards. I guess where my ovaries would be? Right on the inside. And have a weird discharge that started with it all.

It is normal to feel something on that part. Mine is different. It feels itchy sometimes. I think you need to call your doctor prior to your appointment and seek advise. He may give you something to take or apply.

Dearest, I am so sorry you are going through this. I do agree that you should tell the doc EVERY pain you have, even if you feel silly reporting it all. Any one little thing could be what the doctor needs to keep your pg safe. On the same token, I am on my 2nd too....I have had an awfully painful pg. I am crampy and crappy and hurting all over...In the beginning, I really thought I would lose the pg. Nobody I talked to ever heard of that much pain... I didn't have any of it with DS ten years ago. Just leg cramps later on... Anyway, I have been checked out ok and I am getting used to being uncomfortable. The only reason I say to talk to the doc is because of the bedrest and stuff. Well, I tell the doc everything and they scoff at me. I don't care. One day, something may come up in my rambling that means something! I want to make you feel better with the fact that this pg is awful compared to ds! We expect them to be the same and they aren't...I guess each baby has their own ways of doing things! Sorry for the book, but my heart goes out to you. I would never jump up and say "OMGOSH!" but at the same time, you should call and have open dialog with the doc JUST to make you feel safe and good if nothing else. Please pm me anytime for chat and support... Best of luck for you and your precious baby. If you are supposed to rest, REST! lol. Be the princess for a bit! You deserve it!

I had the cramps at the side about the same time as you, but haven't experienced the lower pain (except when it's an off-shoot of the low abdo pain/ cramp I get.

If you're worried sweets, call your mw or doc - that's what they are there for. Xxx

Good luck with the doctors!

I had what you are describing but much later on (mid-late 3rd tri).

I had it particularly badly the night I went into labour (so bad I was crying out), so I think you're definately doing the right thing getting help.

Anyway, I hope you're ok and I'm glad you're getting help. Hopefully it's something not too bad and they can put your mind at rest.

Good luck at the doctors! Hope it isn't anything serious and you're able to be up and about. I had pain like that (not as severe, hurt most right when I sat down - had the same sort of pain during TOM before pregnancy) between 12 and 15 weeks and DTD was extremely uncomfortable / painful. Definitely don't feel bad for calling them!
