It's due to the digestive system slowing down because of the hormones and the fact that the little flap between the stomach and esophagus is relaxed, allowing acid to pass, thus causing heartburn. Totally normal and common.

I battle it by taking a Pepcid once a day and, if necessary, eating 2 extra strength TUMS (but I try not to chew more than 4 in a given day). Milk or yogurt often helps for immediate relief but does nothing for all-day heartburn.

i suffer from reflux terribly! i was on prescription medication befor i fell pregnant and i had to keep on it as if i dont have it i will eventually cough up the acid and it is SO painful! unfortunatly the pariet i am taking is in class b. but everything sees to be fine and dandy with my lil man so i am happy! Cold milk if you sip on it really slow helps! dont drink water as it splashes up the esophagus!

I've been suffering the dreaded heartburn too for a couple of months now but it's slowly getting worse I find that milk only helps for about 10 minutes and I now have spearmint Rennies in my bag, next to my bed, next to my pc......

Yep I'm getting it constantly too!!
Everything I eat seems to give it to me. I just take Rennies or drink milk and it seems to ease.
It is a pain though after every meal, I even get it if I go too long without a meal too, can't win, lol.
I suppose it's a small price to pay though compared to what other women have.

Andrea xx
