Its yours and your OH's choice honey, I had originally wanted to call my baby Jade but my OH's mum owns a buisness with the same name so felt obligated to change it and we chose Jasmine, who knows if it will change again though after she's born

You know what... my first son was named after his father as well. His name is Julian Isais IV. How can you say no to naming your child when it is like a legend in the family?! I did end up separating from the father when my son was 3 but I never regreted naming him after his dad. It is an honor and I tell him that often. Plus.. Julian is a cute name, I must admit

YUP

In fact for the first 4 or 5 years of my daughter's life, that's what he'd call her...

"Hey Bolivar come give Grampa a hug!"

Now my real name is Shiann (like Cheyenne) and when my mother and father told my mother's aunt about my name... "You might as well have named her FUCHLINA." (yeah, like it sounds )

Parents are inspired to name their kids... Just go with your gut, and fuchlina to everyone else.

Yeah, that's why we wanted to name him III. Because I love my OHs name and would love to have it carry on. Even if we do separate it won't change the fact that it's our son and I want him to be named after his father.

Julian is a cute name

What is with moms? I was visiting my grandparents with mine on the weekend and she cracked a joke about me divorcing. She laughed all by herself while everyone else looked uncomfortable. She goes on and on about it - won't even let us have a wedding reception until next YEAR. "Most marraiges don't make it through their first year..."

That's BUSINESSES, mom.

Anyway, since she's not-so-supportive about the wedding (we eloped), she was downright bitter about the pregnancy at first. She's warmed up, a little, but that may just be because everyone else is happy about it. Just tell her to shove off. I like telling mine that I hate my name, and wish someone would have argued with her. But that's because I'm mean.
