Pain the back of my leg, just below the knee...

I have had this pain all day, it is isolated to one spot, behind the leg on the top of the calf, just below my knee...
Nothing I do has made it any better...

I hate to have drank at least 10 8oz bottles of water today....

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried massaging it? Can't walk it off?

My first thought would be "cramp" (it is one of THE classic locations for cramp). Massaging and/or walking it off normally eases cramp, but sometimes you can still feel a bad attack 2/3 days letter (since a severe cramp damages the muscles and it takes a will to ease/repair).

Hydration is great for cramps, but you also need salts in your system too. Sometimes by hydrating heavily (you have drunk quite a lot today ) we dilute the salts in our blood too much and that gives us cramps. I once say my husband suffer very badly from this (heavy exercise, drank LOTS of water, hadn't eaten all day - INCREDIBLY bad cramp). So you need to make sure you have enough salt in your diet.

Hope that it feels a LOT better soon

I'm not sure did you work that muscle recently more so then usual, maybe just stay off your knee for a bit? Feel better soon.

I sometimes get cramps at the top of my calf on the back of my legs - could it be this? I find stretching them out regularly really helps.

Could be running round after three children on your own while a bit tense yesterday (grrr). If it feels like cramp try eating some bananas - you may have "washed all your salts out of your system as mentioned before, could be sciatica. If it doesn't go, or gets worse, give your doc a call. Xxx
