I thought it was only £190 from HMRC?
We dont get it over here anyway - boo hoo!

It's a surestart maternity grant I've looked through the criteria and unless you are receiving states benefits (Income Support etc) you will only qualify if you receive the Child Tax Credit at a higher rate than family element.

Not sure if anyone on here has received one before that might be able to advise the chances of qualifying but when I did a quick CTC calc my earnings were too high to qualify so wouldn't get the grant

can you remember what earns were up to for you to be entitled?
got i feeling i wont be, seems aint even entitled to WTC anymore

i got sure start grant with amber as was living with my parents didnt have income, was on income support.

ah ok both of us are in full time work earning, so doubt we would get it. I jut thought i was missing out lol.

i think its for mum to be's who are claiming some sort of benefit so if you work its unlikely you can claim it.

As the other ladies have said, it mostly for people claiming some sort of benefit (income support/Jobseekers)

The main but about it I'm glad of, it that I'm working full time so dont qualify, but my OH lost his job a few months ago, and cant find anything else, so he is able to claim on my behalf.
