I'm Currently Feeling: | 16 wk scan? so where i live you get a 20 wk scan which is your major scan
you can opt to do at 16 week early scan if you want to ( and pay for it)
today spontaneously i just decided i wanted to do it and booked one for a couple of days time.
can anyone who had a scan at this stage tell me what you can see ie body parts etc and also can they already tell the sex?
thanks |

I'm Currently Feeling: | they may be able to tell you the sex but i would have it confirmed at the 20 week scan just incase. |

| It is possible to tell the sex at this point, but it won't be reliable.
The presnce of a penis would obviously indicate a boy, but the absence of one doesn't necessarily mean a girl. Many babies will appear feminine at this gestation as the penis may not yet be visible. We all start out as girls, thats why boys have nipples! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Like the others said they may be able to tell at this point but it would be more accurate around the 20 week mark. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | When I had Jade they used to do a 16wk scan rather than a 20 weeks scan, and you get to see ALL body parts and we also came away with the sex! So good Luck hun! x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well on my scan she showed us this area and she obviously knew what she was looking at and told us no way was that a boy! And she was right! They never used to do 20wk scan a few years back, so 16wks was when you learnt of the sex as well as the obvious checks, the rule was not to tell if the picture was not clear enough |
