Silver Cross 3D or Maclaren Techno XLR?? CONFUSED ABOUT WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE!!!!

Hello ladies,

I'm really hoping that you can help me choose between these teo prams; the Maclaren Techno XLR or the Silver Cross 3D.....

Basically, I do not want more than one pram as we have limited storage in our house. I also do not want to spend over £300 ish or be replacing a new pram in a few months because the baby has grown out of it etc etc. I also do not want a travel system (eg. a pram that you use with a car seat).

I want to be able to lay the baby down facing me when it's younger and then face it forwards as it gets older. I also want the pram to be able to handle rougher terrains and not be too bulky or heavy.

I have narrowed down my choice to these two prams after searching for weeks (and I mean weeks!).

Silver Cross 3D
This pram looks nice, ticks all of the boxes on how I would like to be able to position the baby and comes as a complete set (no need to buy seperate carry cot etc). The only things that put me off is that the handles didn't feel very sturdy, I'm not sure it would be easy to use on a walk around rougher terrain and I have heard that the baby grows out of the parent facing option rather quickly and you have to fact them forwards at a young age.

Does any one know if you can sit the baby up and facing you in this pram?

Maclaren Techno XLR
Lovely looking pram and is suitable to use up until the baby is a toddler. It looks like it would be ideal pushing around town and out on walks with the dog. It looks light and easy to fold. Downfalls are carry cot is an extra (this doesn't bother me too much as I have found competitive price on line), I can not find information on how long the carry cot will last a baby (eg. weight or age), is it comfortable for the baby.

Same question as above though... can you can sit the baby up and facing you in this pram?

At the moment I am edging towards the Maclaren. I love the look of it and the features are great but need more comparative info on both before I can decide.

I hope someone can offer some help/advice as it's driving me bonkers!!

Thanks so much.

xx

The silver cross 3d does allow you to sit the baby in an upright position not so sure if you can do it both ways, i always thought you could but after reading other posts maybe not. However I would recommend if you were going to to get the 3d that you pay the extra £75 and get the linear freeway, its bigger, studier and their great. My little boy is almost 3 and he still uses his so you certainly get the use out of it and ive just ordered another one for this baby.
