cot ?


hiya, I got given a ikea cot from someone at work who said there friend was giving one away in perfect condition expensive ikea one and only used a few times , so i collected it today but had been in there garage a bit when i got it out the box it looks fine apart froma bit of mould on 3 wooden planks is it ok to clean it off and use it as im sure it would just wipe away ? i just wanted to double check this would be ok for the baby the mattress looks fine tho ?? xxx

It should be fine especially if you disinfect it, if the mould is deep i woudln't risk it TBH
Also you will need to get a new matteress, you should never use a second hand matteress

get some milton to clean off the mould and just give the whole cot a wipe down in it but never use a second hand mattress always buy a new one

As said before, cot mattresses should be one of the few things you should definately buy new. I found that they were cheapest from ikea. I bought this one; http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20113925 - 7cm thickness. There's also 5cm thickness (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70113937) and 9cm thickness (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60113933). xx

thanks everyone i will wipe it down and buy a new mattress and get rid of the old one xxxx

ps will all matresses fit all cots ?

I agree with the others, try and clean the cot the best you can but def buy a new mattress

thanks yh its just a tiny bit of mould on the suface of 3 poles so should clean off easily if i new this i prob wouldnt of even had it but they said it was perfect condition and only used twice so i may aswell just clean it now xxx
