Due to high blood pressure I am being induced.

I went to the doctors last Thursday and all was fine with little Ava. Her heartbeat was a strong 156 and when they placed the doppler on my tummy she actually kicked right where it was and all you could hear was a big BANG! Anyways, I was talking to my doctor about my anxiety and how I am worried about making it through labor. I have panic attacks over the smallest worries and I am not too sure I would be able to have a vaginal delivery. My doctor knows about my anxiety and how my blood pressure HITS THE ROOF when I get upset. I have refused a pap smear 2 separate times from him because of my anxiety and me facing the possibility of having a panic attack.

So my OB came up with a plan, he is going to induce me at 39 weeks, to take away the guessing of me going into labor. I have a huge phobia of strangers handling my body and any little thing can cause me to have panic attacks. So the doctor has scheduled me in on Nov 11th to be induced and because he is afraid of me having a stroke because of my blood pressure he says he will be more then prepared to do a C-section.

I am SO excited but so very nervous and wanted to share the news with you all.

ALSO: Little Ava is a little older then what I thought. I asked my OB if he knew how far along I was and he said 23 weeks and 1 day and I thought I was only 22 weeks and 4 days, so my EDD was pushed back and I am due a few days sooner then what I thought!

does knowing when you're going to have your baby make you feel any less anxious?

I know what panic attacks are like, so you have my sympathy. I used to have them a lot a few years ago, luckily I haven't had one for a long time now.

That is good news, it sounds to me as though they are doing a good job of loking after not just Ava but you too. Hopefully this will make things a little easier on you as you head into third tri in a few weeks. At least now you have a definite date to work towards
