16 week checkup (it was so annoying!)

Hey all.

I recently went in for my 16 week checkup. The whole appointment ended up being almost hilarious.

First of all, my doctor was 50 minutes late. I was pretty mad until I saw the look on his face when he came in. He's an awesome doctor, so I easily forgave him.

Prior to this, the nurse wanted to enroll me in a program called "First Breath". This is a program for pregnant women who still smoke. I explained to her that I had quit smoking 1 week after getting the BFP and that it was in my notes. She ended up asking me 3 times if I wanted to join it. After that, 2 other nurses ended up coming in to ask me if I had wanted to join! I was getting pretty pissed by then.

Then came time to listen to the baby's heartbeat via doppler. We got our sweet revenge on the stupid nurse! It took 10 minutes for the baby to stop moving enough to get a decent reading. The nurse was getting frustrated! It was pretty funny!

At least the baby is pretty active!!!

I left the doctor's office with information on the smoking cessation program. I finally just took the information so the nurse could get off the topic.

How annoying!!!

I am glad to hear the baby is doing well. But I totally understand how annoying the smoking thing would be. Sometimes people dont listen at all.

How frustrating! Suprised you didn't get rude, I would have. Buba obviously wanted to kick up a fuss for you! Love it

I got that as well when I went in first time but in the end I just took the information off her, booked an appointment with the smoking councillor person and cancelled it as soon as I left. Blimmin waste of time.

Pleased Junior is wiggling about though!

LOL, my 16wk appt went about the same way. Doc was late, I got harassed about getting the Flu shot (again..and I will NOT get it), had some issues getting the HB...must be the 'fun' appt!
