I am not having the best of pregnancys (babys fine just my body thats struggling :-) and have been off work for most of it for one reason or another (luckily paid). I never got the golden second trimester just went from morning sickness straight to struggling with the bump lol.

| I was signed off for the last 3 months of my last pregnancy and was on rest! minimal walking about etc...so was kinda stuck at home. I started sewing these little felt animal characters and made a mobile for baby and then made more to decorate the moses basket. I also painted some winnie the pooh pictures for above the cot and painted some plaster winnie the pooh models. I then progressed onto painting by number sets!
That was ok for me cos I kinda enjoy crafty hobbies! if you don't then not sure what else you can do.....there is only so much surfing the net you can do, have you got a nintendo DS or anything like that? reading, films. any friends/family who don't work that could come round a spend a few hours with you? Shopping online for baby stuff? | | | | Status: Offline

| I was signed off from weeks 6-14, and am "back" now only through having been able to arrange working from home, which I know I was lucky for. I'm only allowed 13 weeks off in total, though, so given that I start maternity leave at 34 weeks will need to make it through until at least 29 *prays*. So yes, I really sympathetise. Are you getting lonely? Or just glad to be without the pressure of it all? | | | | Status: Offline

| Hi, thanks for replies. I have got into doing jiqsaws but have banned myself from ebay or shopping online for a while :-). Cant buy much as moving house soon.
Enjoying the long lie ins and the lack of stress lol but you do feel a little worthless. Luckily i was signed off by health and safety for the first 4 months until they found suitable work so being paid untill maternity leave kicks in now. Went back for two weeks a few weeks ago but my Blood Presure went up so back at home. Will be really weird if i decide to go back after maternity leave after so long not working. | | | | Status: Offline

| Same here, have been signed off since first trimester, and will be till my maternity starts... I am bored and some days I get very down, but I keep reminding myself why I am home etc and that keeps me going.
I am worried about how I will feel when I go back to work eventually as I will be away for so long, I just dont know how I will cope.. hopefully I will be looking forward to it!

| Yup I've been signed off too.. I was signed off last week with SPD and been back to the doctor today and been signed off for a further 4 weeks. It's looking likely that I'll be signed off now till my Mat leave starts. I've been keeping myself busy by having my best friend over, knitting (love it!!) and playing World of Warcraft (i'm such a geek lol!) Oh and of course B n B!!! | | | | Status: Online

| I think knitting might drive me mad as i have not got much patience. May see what i can find in a craft store though, it would be nice to do something for the baby. | | | | Status: Offline
