I have a steriod inhaler, im on seretide and i used it all the way through my pregnancy and everything was fine. Doctor said it was safe and it would be more risky if i stopped taking it.

Hi i take seretide and salbutamol inhalers and also uniphyllin and singulair tablets for my asthma, i checked with my doctor and they said that the risk of me having an attack from not taking them was far riskier than the chance that they may harm the baby. I also took all of them apart from the singulair in my last pregnancy and my little boy was fine. I also take antihistamines as my doctor told me it would be fine, think it depends on your doctor as to what advice they give.

I'm on Clenil and ventolin and had to have a short course of prednisolone steroid tablets due to hospital admission last week with serious asthma attack(very scary when pregnant) and docs said steroid inhalers are fine as hardly any passes through the placenta.

I'm taking symbicort and bricanyl, both steroid inhalers. I'm not happy about it, but the doctor tells me there is no evidence to suggest baby will suffer any ill effects because of it. He tells me that the benefits far out-weigh the risks, which I suppose makes sense.

Because I have chronic asthma I am shitting myself about the whole swine flu thing though.......being in two high risk groups is very scary isn't it?!

I have both types of inhaler (blue and brown, cant remember their names lol) and also have had to take steriod tablet courses in the past. My asthma seems to have got worse lately, my doc said it's more risky to stop taking them than to risk a huge attack

I have a steroid inhaler as well, its fine, dont worry. Rather have the steroid inhaler than go back on the heavy doses of tablet steroids I had been on for almost 2 full years...urk.
