They can't rule out not getting it again but very probably not - you build up an immunity to these things. Plus - they have also told me that if I breastfeed I will be able to pass on some immunity to my new baby. So there are some positives! I am def glad I have had it.

ooh.. EmmaJane - that's reassuring. Thanks for that.

I got myself in a right old panic last night. I think probably because I was at a low ebb of course from the symptoms - and just over-reacting.

They say there's a good chance the strain will mutate and be back with a vengeance come Autumn - which would be really pants as that's, of course, when I'll be back in school with all the kids. It was spreading like wildfire this week, so if it's not gone by Autumn, there's every chance I'll get it again! Anyway - need to stay positive.

I've got one more dose of mine this evening! still feel crappy, but daren't to think what it would have been like without it!

The leaflet inside does say there is no evidence of it harming unborn baby! I took paractamol to get my temp down and got the relenza within 24 hours of onset of symptoms so fingers crossed!

Hope you feel better soon!

The mutation is not something that will most likely happen. There is a good chance that the virus may not mutate. Or it may mutate to a weaker form. Both scenarios are very strong.

Also, I watched a programme on TV with a lot of health proffesionals that said that even if the virus did mutate, the basic structure of the virus doesnt change so much that a new vaccine will be needed. In other words, the current vacine may be sufficient for a mutation of the current virus.

I would urge you to try and not panic about next year. We cant predict the future and there is always somethign that will come up to create panic. A pandemic nowadays is not the same as it was in the middle ages. There is advanced techology and huge medical achievements to stop huge disasters from happening.

Worry will probably cause more harm to the baby than the actual flu hun, enjoy your pregnancy, and try and think positive

We are all on the same boat x

Yes you're right of course. An Autumn term would not be an Autumn term without catching some kind of cold/flu anyway. It wouldn't normally bother me. Being pregnant this time round just seems to change things in my head.

I think taking the meds is totally the right thing to do. Apparently they are safe and the main risk of swine flu is an elevated temperature. I do hope you feel better soon.
