Try using tea tree oil on the infection.. it's a natural healing agent, cleans it up and kind of numbs it. May make it a little more comfortable.

i keep puttin mine back through every few days and no problems with it yet. my sister had hers out all the way through and was no trouble getting the bar back through after her baby was born, but a big pussy thing cane out the hole, like a black head!!!
