Hi hon - dont see why not. As long as your tumour doesnt grow, I cant imagine any reason why there should be any issue. One for the midwife me thinks though, you never know what daft reasons they can make up!

Think this something you best ask your consultant. Alot of high risks arent allowed waterbirths. For many different reasons.

Im asking mine on thursday

second that,I would ask your midwife, I am keen on the idea of one too, or at least a water labour, ( you might be allowed that if your not allowed the birth ) BUT, only about 2 in 10 birth plans go to plan, most dont. And it depends on your hospital too, i know mine only has one birthing pool and its on a first come first served basis, its sucky really. If your high risk i cant imagine being able to have a home water birth? :S

I think that as long as you have the water birth in a hospital with consultants and doctors on hand I don't see why not hun. I really want one and I'm bigger than you babe. Luckily my local hospital offer a couple of birthing pools which hopefully I might get if no one gets them before me!

When we had our hospital tour we was told no one who are high risk can go in the pool I wasnt high risk then but was already having high bp which is another reason you cant go in!! I really hope you are allowed to if thats what you want I can imagine its an amazing experience, but then giving birth is anyway! xxx

hi honey, I had a water birth with my second baby a few years ago, it was amazing but I had a very easy, hassle free pregnancy and labour. With my first one I had mega high bp and ended up with the most chemically controlled labour you could imagine which made me hell bent on a natural one the second time around. what i would say is I had absolutely no monitoring at all as you cant in a pool of water,if there is any risk to either you or the baby by the time you get to those last weeks then I doubt the hospital would let you. Im hoping for a home birth this time as I only managed 4 hrs of labour last time round but Im already getting hospital led care due to high bp ( and a high bmi) so I think thats me out!
xx

Hi,

as you know, i have the same issue, a pitruitry tumour, and when i was having Alana, i wanted a water birth, which i was allowed. Unfortunately, i had to be induced and then have an ecs. If you're late and have to be induced, then probably not, but otherwise, i'd imagine you'll just be classed as a normal candidate for a water birth, which would be lovely.
