has anyone felt some sort of minor contractions?

I'm on a row today as I'm taking time off holidays to spend some time in the forum. I obviously have a massive question.

For the past week I started feeling that my womb gets stiff. I asked my mom and aunt and they told me that it was the uterus exercising for the future labor. Right, I checked now online and there's a thing called 'Braxton Hicks contractions'. Apparently not all women perceive it, but until later in the pregnancy. I experience them (if this is what I'm experiencing at all) maybe once in the night or when I'm about to get up in the morning. I'll see the gyneacologist today for a scan and to ask about the normality of this.

It does not hurt at all, I thought that maybe my baby is very active in there. But, would like to know if anyone else has heard about this or felt this.

It certainly sounds like you are experiencing braxton hicks, i am on my 3rd pregnancy and this is the 1st one i have had them with, When i get them it feels a bit unconfortable.. It almost feels like i have been doing sit ups as it feels so tight... Aslong as they are not accompanied with any cramps or blood its fine, and like you mentioned its just your body practicing for the big day. x

thank you baby.love, it gives me some relief to hear that others feel that two, even if this is the first time for you after two other babies!

And no, I don't have negative symptoms, so to speak, it is just weird, specially because when I'm lying down my tiny belly looks funny too... like on one side is more prominent but does not last long either.

I also read that it could be due to dehydration, and I'm in a hot place. I've been drinking lots of water, but i guess i need to drink more!
