Could this be the baby?

Yesterday and today I felt this strange feeling in my tummy, both times in the same place, quite low and on the right hand side. I don't know if it was the baby or maybe just wind or something muscular? The best way I can describe it is as though someone had one of those beater things that you use to play a xylophone, and they were tapping me very lightly on the tummy with it, but from the inside. I felt it a few times yesterday then it stopped, then a couple of times today. It wasn't bubbles or flutters as other people have described.

I didn't think I would feel anything this early, especially as this is my first, so I am wondering if this is just wishful thinking but I am hoping it's little one!

It could be, I've been feeling movement for a couple of weeks now, each day it gets stronger. You'll know for sure as the same sensations intensify over the coming weeks.

That's exactly what mine feels like, and usually in that same spot! Like a tapping feeling. Definitely would say it is baby!

That definitely sounds like baby to me. You'll know over the next few weeks. I felt the first movement at 16 weeks although I wasn't sure at the time whether it was baby, and it's my first too.

Hiya,

It is perfectly possible for you to feel the baby now, just not for people externally of your tum to feel it yet (I know, it's contrary to what others may argue), I felt mine from 17 weeks on and it felt the same way, I described it as a palpatation but in the wrong place,

So congrats, that's more than likely baby!

BTW, don't panic if you don't feel baby every day yet, it's still so tiny and weak you may not feel it at all for a while at a time as it could be moving against your back or other organs, you really only start feeling strong kicks and regular movement from 20 or so weeks onwards, that's when people outside of the belly can feel it too (although some people may claim earlier).
