Other people touching your bump - do you think it's cheeky?

I have a fairly large bump already and over the last few days I've been manhandled at work! my boss has patted my bump a few times, and then another colleague (a woman) did it yesterday too, and said "oh i can't wait to feel it kicking!".. Another colleague (a bloke) asked if he could feel it kicking yet, and i said "no, not yet" but i don't know if he was looking for an invitation to have a feel when my beanie's kicks can be felt properly from the outside. To be honest, it hasn't really bothered me yet, but i can imagine as i get bigger and more people want to cop a feel, it'll become quite tiresome. I know some people think that it's rude just to walk up and touch a pregnant ladies belly, and i think that it is quite rude without asking first? I work in a fairly large office and as a team we all get on well, so can imagine that oer time, more and more of my colleagues will just have a pat/rub whenever they feel like it.

What are your views on this?

in the last two weeks my stomach has ballooned so i am noticeably pregnant. Must say people have asked if they could feel it up until now including my sister who wouldn't normally lol. My ex partner when he was picking up my wee girl patted it and went oh your getting a bit of a stomach now, and i thought that was cheeky of him! but it doesn't really bother me that much i guess sometimes its just nice to get the attention lol x

I work in the same sort of environment; doesn't bother at all if I like the person in fact I'm quite touchy feely so it's quite nice when it's a mate but if it's one of those people I could take or leave then they know from my face not to go there again :-)

I don't generally mind however.....I have just had a week of people getting too fresh with my bump and it really pissed me off! In particular a very good friend who I've not seen for a few months due to her having some family issues that have meant she's kept herself isolated a bit....anyway she called around the other day and proceeded to prod and feel....went on about how rock hard my bump is and how there is no fatty flabby bits anywhere (I lost almost five stone last year.....and she is a big girl, when she found out I was pg she tried to give me her xxl maternity stuff!) and then to make matters worse she then stuck her fingers way too low down and touched my c-section scar and top of my vag jay jay!!! (I think she wants me fat again...and is shocked that I've only put on a stone this pregnancy!)

I told her to get the fook off.....and all week I've felt vioilated....it was a step too far!

I agree with you, I think it's rude to touch a bump without asking the owner of said bumps permission first.

I've only told a small number of ladies at my schol that I'm pregnant and as we don;t want kids to know we're keeping it quiet. But I was mortified when a lovely colleague walked past me the other day and said she was dying to touch my bump but she knows it'll give the game away. I, paniking, said not until the last week of school - secretly now I'm planning on never revealing it and claiming I've an illness - people wont cop a feel if they think I've something freaky going on there instead.

A couple people have held and patted my bump without asking and i hated it, one even talked to it!!! I just dont feel its a big enough bump to warrant touching it yet, i still am getting to grips with putting on weight and feeling fat and stuff so i dont like it. i prob wont like it the whole time and will only really want people to touch it if im feeling good or stuff x
