Does anyone have any tips for flying at 24 weeks??

Hi Ladies, Im flying to canada at about 23/24 weeks ( mid sept), my insurance is fine, the airline doesnt want to know unless youre over 28 so i should be able to fly without a hitch. has anyone flown pretty pregnant? if so how was it, what should I look out for and be ready for and anyone got any tips?
thanks!!

I will be flying too around week 25 and read the following

  1. Wear comfortable, loose clothing
  2. Invest in some compression stockings; these will help keep the blood moving from your ankles to your heart and lungs
  3. Avoid crossing your legs
  4. Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated
One of the most helpful things that you can do to keep your blood flowing is to move around. Go for a walk in the aisle every hour. Every half hour, flex your feet, rotate your ankles and wiggle your toes. These are simple little stretches you can do right in your seat without bothering the person next to you. And if there is no one next to you, then put your feet up and enjoy the extra space!

Also, dont hesitate for asking for a seat with more leg room but avoid the emergency exit seats as the person that sits there should be able to help lift the door etc ( not an option for a pregnant woman)

xxx

I flew out at 24 weeks & back at 25 1/2 weeks- everything was fine. Just make sure you move your legs around during the flight, wear flight socks, & keep hydrated.
I personally found that baby kicked like crazy during take off & landing & was freakishly still during the flight itself, which was a bit disconcerting, but other than that, and needing to pee more than usual, everything felt no different from any other flight I've been on.
Hope you have a great holiday!!!

glad this has been asked as i am going on my honeymoon to the maldives at 22 weeks and flying back at 24 weeks. We are flying first class so will have the extra leg room.

Not looking forward to the sickness tho as i have hyperemesis!

Even though things look good with the airline I would still grab a note from the doctor.

I went on vacation when I was about 25 weeks and had no problem getting to my destination by on the way home they would not have let me on the plane unless I provided a doctors note. I was only 26 weeks.

I got super sick on the flight home. I had a HUGE glass of ice and chomped on ice and held my head in my hands. Some people do better then others.

Hope your vacations go great.
