They think it's pink! Babybond scan results - anyone else had unsure results?

Hi everyone,

Well we went for our gender scan yesterday at babybond, baby had the cord between it's legs so she was scanning for agesss...my heart was beating so fast! Then, after about twenty mintutes she said 'I'm going to go with a girl' as she said she could not see anything boy like at all, she kept seeing one of the three lines that you generally get with a girl but she also saw slight swelling at the top but then she said that girls often have this! Do they often have this?

Well, as you can guess I was quite confused! She then said that she was going to say girl as she didn't want us to go away with no answer, I asked her for a percentage and she wouldn't give us one! At this point I was quite mad as I had just paid £80 but then she said 'Right I'm definitly going with girl' as I had a pretty good view then! Anyone else had a similar experience with babybond? I don't want to let muself get exited in case it's the wrong result! My 20 week scan is on 27th July!

I didn't have this experience with babybond, however just with the usual anamoly scan I had done at 22weeks with NHS. The sonographer was 'pretty sure' it was a girl, but couldn't be sure as she had her legs crossed! But she saw and I saw what seemed to be the labia. So we have gone with a girl, even though its not 100% confirmed. Not too sure whether to go with it or not. And i'm not too sure I want to pay to find out, only to experience the same thing as you!

I had that happen at Milton Keynes babybond, the sonographer looked for a few mins, then went onto say "we will go with boy" well as you can see by my ticker he was wrong... Luckily i complained and got a free rescan where it was said we are having a girl..This has since been confirmed at my 20 week scan.

The thing i would say is if you were scanned for 20 mins then the sonographer would of looked quite a few times and therefore is probably correct.. Also the fact she said 'Right I'm definitly going with girl' as I had a pretty good view then!

..At my 2nd scan she checked loads of times before saying anything,.. When i was scanned the 1st time it was for 5 mins max and he didnt even look between Freya's legs he just guessed.

I am pretty sure your next scan will confirm it for you...

Thanks guys,

Does anyone think I should ask for a rescan? The lady was really nice and she really did try to see for a long time! It was just that the cord was in the way! Whether she was nice or not though, it would be good to get more of a definite answer! x

arh it's a shame when they cannot give you a more definate answer, I did think they offered re-scans if they cannot see the gender properly???? What's the point in having one and paying to be given wishy washy results?? You could mention to them that you really feel none the wiser now and you paid £80 to be confused, of course there is a good chance the sonographer was right but it's all about putting confidence in you about there decision.

I'm sure they don't offer 100% on gender but I thought if there is a reason they cannot see clearly they ask you to come back?

At our gender scan at 17 weeks she said straight away, you have a little girl and then she pointed out her little girl bits, for some reason I still can't wait to have it confirmed next week, knowing my luck her legs will be closed xxxxx

What babybond did you goto?

If she was nice and kept checking i imagine she was sure But i suppose there is no harm in asking babybond as you came away feeling unsure! x

I went to babybond in York, the sonographer was lovely! Well, I have just rang them and very politely explained and they are giving me a free rescan on Tuesday at 6:50pm - result! x They were really nice about it, so I'll keep you posted!
