Losing weight, again

Ugh. Some days I HATE my job.

I started back on nights last Wednesday and will be on until this coming friday when I work a lovely 24 hour shift. I dont get to eat much on nights and Im losing weight again. This isnt a horrible thing since Im fluffy to start out, but I hadnt even recovered my prepregnancy weight from my last stint of nights. *sigh*. And all I eat is crap.

Hi

Welcome to baby & bump!

Can't you take pasta, sandwiches and things like that into work? Why are you not managing to eat, and if that is over a 24hr stint, that really is not good for either of you! x

I used to not eat for ages if I worked a long shift but since being pregnant I can't go very long before I get dizzy and faint. You should try and have something and since you're pregnant you have to be allowed a bit of time out to sit down and eat. I know it's hard though if everyone else is doing long hours too and nobody else is stopping.

My problem is that Im generally in patient care areas and you cant have food (or drink!) in patient care areas. Im a resident, so I dont get "breaks" like nurses do, and Im also currently the senior pedi person in the hospital at night - so I deal with all admissions, emergencies, complaints, etc. Plus, the cafeteria closes at 1 am so if you dont eat before then, you're SOL.

I did leave my intern last night to go get food, but I felt like such a slacker! And even at that, all I had to eat last night was about 6 boneless chicken wings from KFC and a chicken sandwich (on a bun). I *did* have an omlette for breakfast this morning and some Odwalla juice, though.

All the "easy" stuff is a no-no now, too, like sandwiches w/lunchmeat and mayo (a former fave).

working on it...after I get some sleep. It's late for me!

Hi!

Welcome to BnB and congrats on your pregnancy!

It sounds like you're going to have to sneak in time to eat hon, like you did before. Have you asked your supervisor if you could take a little time each day to grab something to eat too? Since you're pregnant I would think they might give you a little slack? Hopefully, things start getting better for you
