Anyone had LEEP incision and all OK

Just worried- hopefully, unneccessarily- but I had LEEP incision of cervix to remove CIN3 cell abnormalities. I have read that this can cause a weakened Cervix which can lead to miscarriage in second Tri. It would be nice to hear of others who have had this too and not had any problems! Just worrying a bit.!

Yup, I had one 3 years ago after 5 years of abnormal smears. It all healed totally fine with in a month. They said you'd never even know I had it done it healed so well.

My cervix has been fine this pregnancy also.

I had a LEEP done 9 years ago and my consultant doesnt seem unduly concerned. He said that with LEEP biopsies, they dont take as much of the cervical tissue as with the cone biopsies and even tho I'm having a cervical scan on 23rd July, it's more of a precautionary measure and assures me that all will be well.
Are you going to be seeing a consultant at some point hun?

I had this 8 months ago and I'm 9 weeks pregnant so can't offer advice but I'm also worried about the same thing and am posting to wish you luck. Have they checked your cervix?

I had a LEEP in Sept 09. I was very very concerned once I got pregnant. So far everything looks ok. I have to have a few more ultrasounds than most women but thats not a bad thing. They also have to measure my cervix throughout the pregnancy to make sure its long enough and stays closed.

As long as your doctor is aware that you've had a LEEP then they should use a little extra precaution and monitor you for anything out of the ordinary. I've come to the conclusion though that I'll be nervous this entire pregnancy.

Hi,I had leep/lletz for cin 3 cells too,had it in june and got pregnant 6 wks later.My doctor has convinced me its not problem at all,as they don't take away much,unlike a cone biopsy.She said it would only be an issue if I'd had it done a few times.
They don't seem to monitor you here after leep like they do in the u.s.,don't know why.
I'll be seeing a consultant for the 1st time in 2 wks,so will again mention it to him and see what he says,but so far i've been told its not an issue.

I had a LOOP diathermy with carcinoma in situ 8 years ago, which is a much deeper op than a LEEP, I had 3/4's of my cervical tissue removed.

I had a couple of cervical scans in this pregnancy to measure it's length and it is absolutely fine. Cervix can regenerate itself.
