Gosh, that makes me sooo mad! How dare they? It sort of makes you want to keep it to yourself doesn't it, I don't understand how people think they can say things like that! Having three boys is lovely and as long as you are happy they can piss off!

There hasn't been a girl in my hubby's family for 40 years and some have made it clear that they would like a little girl, even that hurts me as you can't choose and all that matters is that they are happy and healthy! I think you should plan a really good answer for the next person that makes a nasty comment x x

I don't even have one yet, but thanks to comments from my sister before we knew(she wouldn't even let me talk about it being a boy), I didn't even want to tell her.
I don't think people realize how badly they hurt us with their comments, sometimes.(and I also think they forget that we are much more sensitive to it right now!)

when our 2nd daughter Roxie was born i bumped into my hubbys friend who poked his head into my pram & said "well what did you have?" i replied "shes a little girl" he then said "i bet pauls gutted isnt he, i bet he wanted a boy" i was fuming!!

I have already had people say to me this time "i bet you are hoping for a boy?" No actually i'm not, i'm hoping for a healthy baby (one that sleeps through the night would be a bonus )

As for your MIL's comments about a boy growing up and leaving you, that solely depends on how they have been brought up. In my experience all of the boys in my family are close to their mothers as they were very loved as children. This is the same with a girl too.

Congrats on having a boy, I have two who are very loving and bring such joy. I also have a daughter.

He will of course have his own personality and have a play mate in Kian.

Ignore those ignorant small minded people around you. Your only concern needs to be for the health of the child, as long as he is healthy the gender is irrelevant.

My sister has three boys and couldn't be happier.

Once again congratulations its a boy!!

That's so not on! I've now decided that, whether or not we find out the gender, I'm not going to be telling anyone...

Ive had some experience of this too. My hubbys mum and nanna both made hints of wanting a girl before we found out the sex. We wanted a girl too and I don't mind admitting it,I cried when I found out it's a boy but from that moment I fell in love with him completley and no part of me wishes he was a she now. When hubby told them were having another boy they made a comment to him like oooh you can't seem to make little girls can you!
Some people eh!!!

Congrats on your blue bump hun! Boys are fab! I have three!
I'm still in 1st Tri (just lurking here in 2nd!!) but had to reply. I think we will find out what this one is, but I just want a healthy baby. I am unsure of whether to tell anyone else, because I can imagine the comments if it is a 4th boy!

xx
